“I remember being 15 years old and taking forever to pick out a plaid shirt”

— Charlie Rossi

Owner Charlie Rossi

Rossi Clothiers was founded in 1991 by the Saint Louis native, Charlie Rossi. Charlie’s passion for clothing started at a young age.  “I remember being 15 years old and taking forever to pick out a plaid shirt” at Boyd’s, a specialty men’s store. Years later while attending his 10-year high school Charlie noticed the clothing of 2 of his former classmates. “What brand is that?” It’s Ralph Lauren. This encounter influenced Charlie’s sense of style forever.

Dressing the Man.

Elevated classics are the basis of Charlie’s style. He is inspired by the stars of the silver screen – Gary Cooper in “Foutain Head”, and Cary Grant in “Suspicion. Geroge Clooney and Daniel Craig top his list for contemporary stars.  Both are great examples of classic men’s style with an emphasis on elegance, high quality, and craftsmanship.

Aside from the big screen influences, Charlie’s go-to book for elegant dressing is “Dressing the Man, Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion” by Alan Flusser. The book is always on display and quick reference for young professionals starting their wardrobe journey.

Rossi Clothiers reflects Charlie’s taste with a contemporary twist. Elegant sport coats are complemented with a variety of men’s accessories including modern colorful ties and pockets squares.  Contemporary casual clothing is mixed with artisanal pieces like hand finished shirts, sweaters, and leather jackets. High quality European handmade shoes add the finishing touch to any ensemble.  If you like color, Rossi Clothiers has you covered from bright blues and pinks for summer to deep rust, hunter green or purple for fall/winter. Purple is a year-round staple as it’s Charlie’s favorite color. From deep aubergine to lavender, it’s usually found in the store.
